lyrics

You know I know what you mean, don’t have to say a word
Thought I’d play safer by now but I never learn

When you set me aside, I try to act so demure
But It’s all true, it’s all true, all the crazy shit you've heard
Just this vagabond queen with her heart uninsured
Just a scene, just a dream, just a secret that you’d slur
And I know

You can’t help yourself 'cause something’s better than nothing
You can’t help yourself, you got my best for free
If I can’t help myself I know who’s gonna be running
You know I’m always last to leave

I live to hear you explain how I’ve blown your mind
Know I’m good, know I’m good, don't need you to tell me why
You know it’s all a big game, with no logic or rhyme
You can’t stay, there's no way, but you thank me for the time
And I know

You can’t help yourself 'cause something’s better than nothing
You can’t help yourself, you got my best for free
If I can’t help myself I know who’s gonna be running
You know I’m always last to leave

(Always last to leave)
(Always last to leave)

At the end it’s always me
(Always last to leave)
At the end it’s always me
(Always last to leave)

At the end it’s always me
(Always last to leave)
At the end it’s always me
(Always last to leave)

At the end it’s always me
(Always last to leave)
At the end it’s always me
And you know

I can’t help myself 'cause somethings better than nothing
I can’t help myself, I give my best for free
A walking sleepless night always strung out on something
I know I’m always last to leave

You can’t help yourself 'cause something’s better than nothing
You can’t help yourself, you got my best for free
If I can’t help myself I know who’s gonna be running
You know I’m always last to leave

At the end it’s only me
You know I’m always last to leave

The Prom Queens Cleveland, Ohio

Vocalists Ayana Cheston and Hannah Rae Leach met by chance in the fall of 2017. They began to work on music together, fine- tuning their harmonization skills and creating innovative arrangements of songs they loved, all while writing new material. With the addition of multi-instrumentalist Josh Perelman-Hall in September of 2019, the glam, harmony-driven folk-pop trio of dreams was formed. ... more
